What Is It
And How Can I Learn More?
The Enneagram is a map revealing nine personality types that indicate the way we, consciously and subconsciously, process and respond to the world. This tool of self-discovery and transformation reveals to us the areas of our personality that keep us from living fully and freely. It cultivates an awareness of our personality and its tendencies so we can begin letting go of our defensive reactions and limiting patterns of behavior. In this “letting go” – a trademark of the contemplative path – we are more able to live out of our True Self, the self that bears the image of God, and thus offer our unique manifestation of God’s love to a world in need.
If you are interested in making the Enneagram part of your journey, or would like to invite its wisdom into your community, I’d be happy to connect with you. My training and certification includes: Advanced Level Certification in the Enneagram with Dr. Jerome Wagoner atEnneagram Spectrum, the Levels of Development of the Enneagram through the Enneagram Institute, and the Enneagram in Spiritual Direction with Suzanne Stabile. Deep Coaching with the Enneagram: What’s Keeping You Stuck
Often we know our Enneagram type and may even notice our Type’s patterns and tendencies within our behavior. However, we still struggle to understand what exactly causes us to respond to situations negatively, whether in our relationships, leadership, parenting, or all the above. We wonder what takes us into that downward spiral and what is it that helps us respond with awareness, leading to growth. Examination of our basic fear sheds light on this and reveals the levels of health we are functioning at within our Enneagram type at any given time.
These recommended on-going sessions include but are not limited to:
- an overview of the Levels of Development and Stances within your Enneagram type
- examination your Type’s basic fear – expressions, malformations, and triggers
- exploration of invitations to growth stemming from your basic fear
- development of tools/practices that foster growth and deeper awareness
